Joseph R. Biden
President-Elect of the United States
P.O. Box 96663
Washington, DC 20077
Dear Mr. President-Elect,
On behalf of the Board and Staff of the New York Center for Foreign Policy Affairs, I would like to congratulate you on your election to our nation’s highest office. We all appreciate the extraordinary challenges you and Vice President-Elect Harris face regarding the ongoing global pandemic, the economy, and international relations. We also understand the incredible challenge that you and your team face in uniting a very divided nation.
To restore America’s standing as the greatest nation and a true friend of our allies, these challenging times require diplomacy and sound judgement in foreign affairs. These are times that require our nation to show strength, compassion, empathy, and charity to all…domestic and foreign. These are times that require the United States to be the one true voice of democracy…the one true voice of justice…the one true voice of hope… in a global community.
The cornerstone of our Center’s mission is to research and speak to the issues that face our great nation in foreign policy. We believe that foreign policy affects the lives of all Americans…and our fellow citizens in this universal community. We believe that a strong foreign policy creates a strong nation, and therefore, a safer world. Now, more than ever, the future of our nation as a “shining beacon of hope” depends on how we re-engage with our partners and our adversaries.
The American people have voted. The American people have let their voice be heard. As such, the American people have entrusted you with the safety of their health, the security of their nation and the continuation of 244 years of this great experiment of ours.
We look to you to use this opportunity to not only heal and unite a divided nation, but also heal and unite a divided world. We look to you to set a bold new course for the future that is fully inclusive of our nation’s strength, diversity, and compassion. We look to you to be a sound voice of the American people in the international community. In short, we look to you to lead our nation to become the beacon of hope across the world once again.
If we can be of any assistance in this time of transition or at any time during your term as President, please do not hesitate to contact us at any time.
Once again, congratulations on this victory in this historic election and we look forward to working with you and your administration in the future.
Most Respectfully,
Justin Thomas Russell
