NYCFPA Speaks at a Forum in Madagascar

While on the partnership trip in Madagascar, New York Center for Foreign Policy Affairs was invited to speak at a forum at Save Give and Invest in Madagascar. Several other NGO’s from the Washington D.C. area were also there to share their expertise.

The forum focused on women’s entrepreneurship and political participation. NYCYFPA spoke and gave it and international and foreign policy twist. Essentially, how do women’s political participation is essential to a healthy foreign policy.

The forum began with Malanto Rabary, the Director of Save Give and Invest in Madagascar speaking about her organization and thanking the speakers for coming. Malanto has over 23 years of professional experience as senior management and working as a consultancy for a variety of NGOs. She currently serves as the Madagascar Director of the International Partner Biblical Entrepreneurship Program.

NYCFPA gave a history of how women’s political participation has grown all around the world in the last decades and gave specific examples from countries who has seen great progress because of the increase of women in leadership and civic participation. In fact, the meaningful participation of women in national, local and community leadership roles has become an important focus on global development policy.

The turnout was wonderful, and the audience was engaged and asked a variety of questions. Many of the participants were interested in NYCFPA and the work we are currently doing and will do in the future.NYCFPA is thankful for this opportunity to create partnerships worldwide.
