Exploring the United State Presidential debate between Biden and Trump

On June 27 the first Presidential debate between Joe Biden and Trump was held in Atlanta. The debate was related to the 2024 US election. Both Presidents exchanged their opinions on foreign policy. They specially focussed on the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Joe Diden is in favor of Ukraine and emphasizes the importance of supporting Ukraine and maintaining strong international alliances to counter Russian aggression. On the other hand Trump disagreed with Biden’s opinion.

He suggested a need for direct negotiations with Russia to achieve peace. In that debate both Presidents expressed their opinion about how to handle the war, with Biden advocating for continued support to Ukraine and Trump proposing a more diplomatic route to resolve the crisis.

Donlad Trump is the Republican nominee. He also believed that he had an effective strategy that could solve the conflict between Kyiv and Moscow. This person also expresses strong opposition to the President of Ukraine, Zelensky. He also thinks that his proposed strategy definitely brings peace across the world.

In contrast to Trump’s stance, the current President of the United States, Joe Biden supports Ukraine. He provides this nation military aid. Joe Biden also highlighted the importance of united NATO. This is important to maintain the security and stability of Ukraine.  This clearly points out the opposite opinions of both people, Joe Biden and Donald Trump. Both have different thoughts regarding to foreign policy of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Furthermore, Trump claimed during the debate, “ I will have that war settled between (Russian leader Vladimir) Putin and Zelensky as president-elect. Before I take office on Jan. 20, I’ll have that war settled.”

In response to this claim, Biden said Putin was a “war criminal”.

“He wants all of Ukraine. That’s what he wants,” Biden said.

He also highlights the concern about Poland and Belarus. It is also important to think about the NATO countries. We must consider the broader implications of such aggressive actions. Not only one country matters, it’s all about the security and stability of the whole region.

It’s not just about one country; it’s about the security and stability of an entire region. The current president, Joe Biden also highlighted that NATO allies are equally committed as the United State and are distributing huge amounts of funding in order to assist Ukraine. At this time, this effort is necessary to deter further aggression and also save the sovereignty of all nations involved. He also emphasized that the stakes are high, and we must remain vigilant.

Trump has rejected Putin’s ceasefire terms, which demand Ukraine surrender Russian-occupied areas and drop NATO aspirations, calling them “unacceptable.” However, Trump hasn’t outlined his own peace proposal, leaving the details unclear. This lack of specifics makes it difficult to grasp his vision for peace in the region. It underscores the complexity and calls for a more transparent plan. The absence of details raises questions about how peace could be achieved under Trump’s leadership, leaving many uncertainties unresolved for now.

It was quite concerning to know Trump’s comment during the debate about the Russia-Ukraine war. Trump’s discussions about Ukraine were oversimplified. According to him, Ukraine is the nation that gets too much help from the United States. And also went so far as to refer to President Zelensky as a “salesman.” Furthermore, Trump asserted that if he had been president in 2022, Russia would never have launched the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

This perspective seems dismissive of the complexities of international relations and the intricacies involved in the conflict. It appears to underestimate the gravity of the situation and the necessity of United State support for Ukraine in its struggle against Russian aggression.

Trump also pointed out again and again that he could end the war within 24 hours, if win the elections. However in this debate he has not shared any detail on his plan. His advisor suggested a method where the United State would withhold military aid to Ukraine unless Kyiv agrees to negotiate with Russia.

This proposal made the debate more complex over its potential effectiveness and its impact on Ukraine’s security. Additionally many critics expressed concern that it could make the Ukraine position weak against Russian aggression. At the same time, supporters think that it is a necessary step in order to promote diplomatic solutions.

As the election approaches, Trump’s stance on international relations continues to draw scrutiny and discussion.
