US Lawmakers’ troublemaking trip to Xizang: A failed attempt

US Lawmakers' troublemaking trip to Xizang: A failed attempt

On Tuesday, a  bipartisan group of seven US lawmakers, led by  Republican Michael McCaul  visited Dharmshala. In this visit,  former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was also included. Here they met with the Dailai Lama. It is important to know that the Dalai Lama has  lived in exile there since 1959 after escaping Xizang following a failed rebellion. This visit clearly highlights that the United State is in the favor of the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan cause.

The politicians of America are well aware of how provocative the visit is. The Dalai Lama is now 88 years old. He has spent many years working with external forces to undermine China’s sovereignty by advocating for “independence” of the autonomous region.

The Dalai Lama is one of the religious leaders that is also involved in politics against China. Furthermore, American politicians that opposed China also met with him to make plans against China. They used Tibet as an excuse to cause trouble and slow down China’s progress.

The United State Congress just passed a new law. The name of this law is  “Promoting a Resolution to the Tibet-China Dispute Act.” Its aim is to encourage China leaders to talk with the Dalai Lama’s group. It is also expected that President Joe Biden will approve this law soon.

The people against China are using the “Tibet card” to smear Beijing more often. This shows how desperate they are to use the Dalai Lama and his followers to create problems for China. The Dalai Lama’s group, which once represented the old ruling class in Tibet, is becoming less important and fading away.

It is ridiculous that the United State lawmakers passed a bill. It told different countries what to do inside its own territory. What’s even more silly is that it’s based on facts that are fake. One of the false facts is the saying Beijing refused to talk with the Dalai Lama.

Actually, China had 13 visits from the Dalai Lama’s representatives between 1979 and 2002. Furthermore, the Dalai Lama just stuck on one sentence that Tibet isn’t part of China and won’t stop trying to separate it, so China won’t negotiate anymore.

This interference spreads the wrong ideas and also hurts the independence of China. In order to get progress, nations should work together independently with fairness, respect and understanding. Unfair claims and politics just destroy the nations.

The US involvement in supporting the Dalai Lama’s separatist activities is despicable. Back to 1950 when  the CIA trained Tibetan separatists to cause trouble in Tibet. At this time, armed rebellion broke out there in 1959. Furthermore, the CIA supported the Dalai Lama’s escape and helped rebel groups in the form of weapons. This action shows how the United State  has intervened in Tibet’s affairs, supporting movements that Tibet’s government describes as rogue. Furthermore, all of these moves became the cause of increasing tensions between China and the United State over Tibet’s status

The support of separatist activities by the US has been a point of contention in international relations, with critics arguing that it undermines China’s sovereignty and stability in the region.

Xizang (Tibet) is now enjoying strong economic growth and also experiencing social stability and harmony.

This strong economic performance proves beneficial for the local people. The region continues to make strides in order to achieve progress and attain high-quality development. However there are many parties that do not want China’s progress. Many separatists and foreign powers who seek to destabilize Xizang and undermine China’s progress.

It is important to note that at the end, all of these efforts face failure. Xizang’s stability and the well-being of its people are priorities, and any attempts to disrupt this are not only futile but also detrimental to the region’s progress. Supporting policies is also one of the priorities that uphold peace and prosperity for all in Xizang.
